Principles
If a feature breaks one of these, the feature loses.
What every Nox Lyra app holds to.
Free to use, fully.
No paywalled core features, no trial that expires, no "pro" tier that holds back the thing people came for.
No servers.
The app runs on the device. Data lives on the device and is kept safe by the phone's own backup (iCloud, Android Auto Backup) or by a file the user exports. A server is a running cost and a privacy liability, and a free app cannot afford either.
No account.
Open it and use it.
No dark patterns.
No nag screens, fake urgency, rating prompts mid-task, or notifications whose job is to bring people back.
Private by default.
No ads, no tracking SDKs. If analytics exist at all they are opt-in and count events, not people.
Better, not just cheaper.
Free alone is a race to the bottom. Each app has to fix the specific complaints that made people unhappy with the original.
Your data leaves with you.
Any app that keeps user data exports it in an open format.
Finished is a feature.
An app that does one job well and stops gaining features is a success, not an abandoned project. It still gets a yearly compatibility update: Google Play hides apps that fall too far behind its required API level, and Apple removes apps that go years without an update.
